I wish I had batteries for my camera...I want to take a picture of my outfit and all of the cute bento stuff I got today at Japantown ^_^
I guess I'll describe these things as best as I can...as lame as it is.
My outfit today:
black fedora, Lids $20
cargo pants, Target $20
plain light blue tank, Old Navy
black vest with wavy trimming, DIY (originally a cropped jacket from Target...I just cut the sleeves off =3)
skull necklace, Disneyland (Pirates of the Caribbean!)
gold tear drop necklace, Forever 21
bow necklace, gift from friend
brown beaded bracelet, DIY (cut off breads from my Stamp 10 bag)
Chinese charm bracelet, Pampanga, Philippines
Our Lady of Guadalupe bracelet, random church
Stamp 10 bag, gift from uncle
I wore a lot more jewelry than usual...I guess it's an inspiration by Lulu (gah! love her!) To be honest...she's really been influencing the way I dress lately. Actually, just the chictopians of Chictopia in general. (Thanks a lot Tea-chan for getting me obsessed with that website! >:[ ) I've been wearing my tights a lot more, craving for some oxfords (actually I always have been thanks to Hanadan), tucking in my shirts more and being more accepting of loose clothes. I can't understand why I've always worn my clothes so tight now...I honestly want to raid a man's closet :X No joke. I am seriously lusting over Lulu's Marni heels and a beige colored fedora. Le sigh...Thank goodness I have a job now. XD
Okay! So as for bento, I bought two more pink straps, silicon-heart shaped containers, food sticks and egg molds. I definitely need to take a picture of my new egg molds! I got a bear, bunny, car and fish. I honestly think the fish is the cutest, but Dii is (of course) very partial towards the bunny XD I can't wait to use them!
Didn't really Smash today. Got raped by Dii. Of course. Fuck his agro-Marth and his fucking chain grabs and fairs...UGH! Ah well...I'm still omghellamuthafukkin' in love with him<3
GOOD ASS BATTLE RIGHHURRR.
College orientation was awesome. I seriously didn't want to leave. Despite the 116* F weather (for serious UGH), it was well worth it.
Day 1: After my uncle dropped me off, I lined up to register, get my ID card and all of that fun stuff. It was interesting to see how diverse my classmates looked, and I'm not just talking about ethnicity (although I must say, I've never been at a school with so many Asians like moi :X). I saw before me a myriad of stereotypes (nerds, hollicrombie zombies, etc.) and was excited to see that. I was kind of expecting to be with a whole bunch of nerdy kids, but that's not the case ^_^ (BTW, I saw this Asian chick with the CUTEST Marc Jacobs bag. *envy*) After settling in, I met my roommates, learned the Aggie fight song and met my first friend. My new friend and I decided to get lunch together, where we ran into two more of my new friends. It was cool that while I was making friends and introducing myself like crazy, I had my own little group to hang out with the rest of orientation. Later that night, we had a night to spend at the gym. I got a henna tat with my name in cursive, played dogdeball and boulder climbed the rockwall. Oh my goodness...boulder climbing is scary...I knew the mat was under me to catch me when I fall, but I still couldn't go very high without freaking out.
Day 2: Had all of my meals with my new group of friends. To survive the upcoming six hour lecture after lunch, we gathered a whole bunch of cookies, oranges and rice krispies. During the lecture, we made fake joints and threw it at each other. We're ftw, I know. That night, there was a random function going on with bowling, pool, poker, video game tourneys and arcade games. If you've gone through this blog before, I'm pretty sure you can guess where CUTIE natrually gravitated to. DUH! Brawl friendlies! I didn't meet any serious smashers for Brawl, but I met one smasher who used to play Melee competitively. It was awesome to chat with him. (Never got his gamertag...but his name was Joseph. He mained Falco :X) So that night...despite meticulously working on my schedule, I stayed up until 2:30 in the morning to finish that shit. UGH. I really hope I'll get sleep in college. T_T
Day 3: Last day of Orientation...le sigh...It was fun while it lasted. I signed up for my classes and checked out of my dorm room. I'm really happy with my classes! I placed into Honors Calculus and Chemistry due to my placement exam scores that I studied my butt of for, but I decided to opt out of the honors courses for now. See, freshman usually take 13 units their first quarter. I'm taking 16.5.
...
UGH. My adviser told me that if I want to double major in Japanese and Biochemistry AND travel abroad to Japan, I can't "do any classes for fun." I have to stick to a tight schedule of just my necessary courses and GE. Ah well. I enjoy both of my majors, so I don't mind too much. Anyways, I signed up for calculus, chemistry, remedial English and astronomy. Kind of pissed off about the remedial English class. I know that I don't belong there, but my high school counselors didn't tell me to take some writing test I needed to do in May. Now I have to wait until the start of school to take it. If I pass, then I get to drop the remedial English course and take the regular one--no big. I looked up all of my professors at ratemyprofessors.com and they seem ligit. YAY!
SO EXCITED TO START COLLEGE. I love the school spirit, my classmates, the beautiful campus...AHHHHH I didn't want to leave!

In general, my summer will consist of this:
work + studying + Smash
Yeeeeeeee.
Goddamit. I lost to Afro for the Level 1 tryouts of Cult of Chaos. I'm such a NUB! I know I can do better than what I did...ugh. Now I have to wait five days to play again.
I noticed that I'm very good at figuring out patterns when I see people play...Too bad my hands have a mind of their own and constantly attack with not startegy. -_-* Stupid hands...I'm a bit discouraged, but I shouldn't be! This is the only way I can get better!!!!!
*Determined face*
And for something not Smash related (for once)...I REALLY want oxford heels...or just oxfords...I want my "Rui" shoes! UGH!
SO SEXY X3 (And these are on sale...damn the fact that I have no credit cards!!!!!!!!!!!)
I'm EXTREMELY excited for B.I.O. at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in August. Meeting Smashers...dancing to Caramelldansen...raping with my adorable Gannydork...This shit is going to be awesome. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Also, egruntz's 2nd doubles tourney is coming up. gannondorf4ever asked me to be his partner ^_^ I'm so happy! Our team name is CUTIE-Kong (he mains Diddy). We going to rock that shit. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Oh, and if you're a complete n00b and don't know what Caramelldansen is....take a gander at this:
Someday, I'll be as good as Sliq...WATCH OUT.
...not completely. Epic phail because I couldn't even win a single round in the double elimination hahaha. I lost to Ike_angel and Strut...but it was so fun! ^_^ Even though it was an online tourney, I was so hyped up and excited to play. I had such close matches with Strut's Lucas! Damn, I screamed so loud when I lost ^_^U
I love Smash even more. I want to get really good, go to tourneys (offline, but online's pretty cool) and meet other Smashers. What I ultimately gained was experience. I am so excited to attend my first in person tourney.
Oh, and my pit got raped. lulz. My Ganny did a pretty good job though ^_^ Good Ganny!
I really need to just...calm the fuck down. I need to take a deep breath and just let things fall into place. I'm so nervous about whether or not I can afford Davis, whether or not I'll finally get a job (Starbucks interview tomorrow!), whether or not I'll get more scholarships, whether or not I'll make yummy, kawaii onigiri for the Art Festival...ugh. The fact that I've been spending a lot of money lately (stupid prom) doesn't ease my mind about the whole money predicament.
I've been distracting myself lately with reading, piano and Smash. I've been reading Street of a Thousand Cherry Blossoms by Gail Tsukiyama and I'm enjoying every single page of it. That's what I get for being a history nerd. I love reading historical fiction, especially about World War II. Also, I've been working on "Planetarium" by Otsuka Ai. It's coming along nicely and I want to play and sing it to Dii. ^_^
Oh, and Smash? I'm getting better! Even Diisays I'm getting better! Yee! My Ganondorf fucking rapes...the end.
All right. I really just have to enjoy the last days of high school. I have prom, the Disneyland trip, Senior Breakfast, Senior Slideshow and, of course, graduation. I can't believe I'm going to finallyget out of this place! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS.
After reading Zijin's blog about "Why Brawl will kill the Smash community," I sat there contemplating. I actually went on Youtube and watched a lot of Melee videos and now I don't know what I was thinking when I thought, 'All right. Brawl is the new Smash. Just play that.' Oh how dumb that was. Brawl and Melee I believe have pretty different aspects to offer. When I say aspects, I don't mean game content (ie. new characters, stages, music, etc.). I'm talking about the way the game is played. Zijin describes Brawl to be "technically and strategically shallow" the more he plays it. Now, I know 105% that I have not played as much as much as Zijin, but I see where he's coming from. I am no where near as good as most players, but I do see a huge difference in gameplay between the games. Melee has more technqiues (ie. the infamous wavedashing) and actual depth to the fighting than Brawl. Brawl leans more towards defense,.
Thing is, I want to give Brawl more time. In my opinon, this Smash is still new and maybe it's too soon to say that it will "kill the Smash community." While I felt that his argument about Brawl being more on the defensive side to be true, I don't think that would ultimately kill the community. I want to look at Brawl as a new challenge, a new way to play Smash. Although veterans of Melee dislike things like the elimination of wavedashing, I think the Melee veterans should rise up to the challenge and conquer this game, too.
In fact, I believe that just because Brawl is out that we should toss Melee aside. I also believe that just because a lot of old players don't like Brawl that they should toss it aside either. A true Smash player will continue to attend/host tourneys for both games and appreciate/master the different aspects that Melee and Brawl has to offer.
